Bag filter is a type of dust filter in which fabric bags or synthetic fibers are used to separate suspended particles. These filters have high efficiency in separating particles of different sizes. Bag filters can often be used as a pre-filter or main filter in air conditioning systems. In air conditioning systems, the amount of flow intensity and air quality are of particular importance, therefore, the filters used in these systems should have a small pressure drop in addition to proper air passage. The reason that bag filters are made both as a main filter and as a pre-filter is that you can use deep filtration media with a high filtration level.

Filter bags
Filter bags are the main components of the bag filter. These bags are made of fabric or synthetic fibers and are responsible for separating suspended particles from the gas flow. Fabric filter bags are made from synthetic or natural fabrics such as polyester, nylon, linen, and cotton. Synthetic fiber filter bags are made from synthetic fibers such as Nomex, Arlon and Tarmi.
The material of the filter bags should be suitable for the type of particles and environmental conditions. For example, filter bags made of wear-resistant materials are used to separate abrasive particles. To separate chemical particles, filter bags made of chemical-resistant materials are used.

Filter housing
The filter housing is one of the important components of the bag filter. This container is made of metal or plastic and holds the filter bags. The filter housing must be made of materials resistant to corrosion and wear. Also, the filter housing must have a strong structure to withstand the pressure of gas and suspended particles.
Bag cleaning system
The bag cleaning system is one of the important components of the bag filter. This system is used to separate the particles collected on the bags. There are different types of bag cleaning systems. Among the most common bag cleaning systems are impact cleaning system, vibration cleaning system and electrostatic cleaning system.
