Solar water heater to heat water up to 95 degrees Celsius without the need for electricity or batteries
Solar water heating is a device that heats the required water by absorbing solar energy. The use of solar energy to heat water is economically very affordable due to the fact that this huge source of energy is free. Solar water heating systems have different divisions, which include:
- Thermosyphon
- Pump under pressure
- Gravitational return
Thermosiphon These systems do not have any pumps to move water and operate using the heat of the sun. The main problem of this system is the phenomenon of freezing in the cold seasons of the year.
- Pumped under pressure: in this system, the circuit is closed and pumps are used to move the fluid. Antifreeze is used to prevent freezing. This system is less efficient in areas that experience large temperature differences.
- Gravity return: Gravity return systems are generally a part of indirect water heating systems in which the water in a closed cycle receives the sun's heat from the collector and heats the water in the tank by means of a heat exchanger. The system works as long as there is enough solar energy. Otherwise, the pump is out of order and the fluid inside the collector is drained into the tank due to gravity. These systems are well suited for areas that experience large temperature differences[citation needed]. The gravity return system of SGP collectors is designed according to the conditions of Iran, and due to the lack of antifreeze, it is superior to thermosyphon systems under pressure.
Solar water heaters are divided into two main types under pressure and without pressure
Solar water heaters under proper pressure are suitable for cold areas and places with sufficient water pressure.
Solar water heaters without pressure are suitable for tropical regions and need a water source to supply the water pressure of the water heater.
