Plastic to diesel recycling production line


Everyone knows that plastic is made from petroleum raw materials. In other words, we take the oil out of the ground, then instead of turning it into gasoline or any other petroleum product, we turn it into plastic. We also know that when we are done using our plastic products, we are going to recycle them. This keeps them out of landfills, and if we buy products made from recycled plastic, we get the added benefit of making sure we're using as much fresh oil as possible. However, we throw out more plastic than we recycle, and one of the most problematic products out there is single-use shopping bags. Although we all know that we should bring our own reusable bags when shopping, this has not reduced the demand for these disposable bags. Worse, every year more and more of these bags end up in landfills, oceans, and other places where they can cause significant damage to the environment. And this is just one form of plastic products that we can turn into a more useful product when it reaches the end of its life. To recycle shopping bags, researchers used a process called pyrolysis, which was previously used to convert plastic bags into crude oil products. This process works by heating plastic bags in an oxygen-free chamber to obtain oil. However, it can refine the materials created through pyrolysis into various petroleum products and has achieved its goal of producing a fuel that meets the standards for very low sulfur diesel and biodiesel fuels. The results of their study showed that the fuels obtained from their process can be blended at a rate of 30% in conventional diesel without any compatibility problems or any necessary modifications. In fact, almost all the properties of the produced fuel were within ASTM D975 and EN 590 diesel specifications, while the derived cetane number (a measure of diesel combustion quality that requires compression ignition) and lubricity were superior to conventional diesel fuel.
