Tool steel 1.2080 (SPK), which belongs to the category of cold-worked alloy steels, with the characteristic of the DIN standard X210Cr12 and in the Behlari standard with the name k100, is also famous in the market and is part of the category of hard steels. 1.2080 steel is one of the high carbon and high chrome (12%) cold work steels. The presence of high carbon and chromium in spk steel has given this steel extraordinary hardenability properties, which has made this steel one of the most widely used cold tool steels in Iran. The annealing temperature of cold steel 2080 is around 800-850 degrees Celsius, and this steel is subjected to forging at a temperature of 850-1050. (Forging is a metal welding method.)
This steel is imported from Germany and China. The word Spk is derived from Special K. This steel is also available in belt section as Spk belt. One of the most important applications of 1.2080 steel or spk steel can be used in cutting mandrels and matrices, nail molds, turning tools, all kinds of buckles, pleats, all kinds of wire cutting blade, cutting tools under high tension and... pointed out.
