What is zinc oxide?
Zinc oxide is a mineral compound and a white powder that does not dissolve in water and is widely used as an additive in various materials and products including pastes, plastics, ceramics, glass, cement, lubricants, paints, ointments, adhesives, sealants, Pigments, food, batteries, ferrites, fire retardant and first aid bandages are used. Although this substance is found in nature in the form of zensite, zinc oxide is mainly produced artificially.
Zinc oxide is a semiconductor of the II-VI semiconductor group. The main contamination of this semiconductor is due to oxygen excitations or internal connections between zinc of n type. This semiconductor has several desirable properties including good transparency, high electron mobility, wide energy band and strong radiation at room temperature. These properties are important for some applications: for example, transparent electrodes in liquid crystal displays (LCDs), energy and heat shielding windows, and in electronics as thin transistors and light-emitting diodes.
Applications:
This substance has various uses in various industries, including:
As a filler in rubber production industries
Pharmaceutical and cosmetics production
textile
Photocatalyst
Food industry
Production of zinc silicate
